Placenames Australia | The Committee

The Australian National Placenames Survey (ANPS) is supported by a voluntary non-profit association incorporated in NSW, Placenames Australia (Inc). The object of the association is to ensure that the Survey is implemented. To this end, it annually appoints a toponymist to act as Director of the Survey, and it supplies the administrative framework which permits the Survey's researchers to do their work effectively.

Membership of PA is open to all who are willing to support the work of the Survey with a small annual subscription.There are two membership categories: Corporate membership, for organisations or institutions which wish to support ANPS; and Individual membership for others. ANPS supporters who wish to take up membership of the association can currently do so by returning the subscription form from the ANPS newsletter, Placenames Australia.
